Day 1: Arrival in Paro - Transfer to Thimphu

Your journey begins with a flight to Bhutan, where the sight of majestic Himalayan mountains will greet you. Upon arrival, a dedicated representative will welcome you and escort you on a picturesque drive to Thimphu. Later, explore the serene Memorial Stupa and the magnificent Trashi Chhodzong. Enjoy a restful night in a comfortable Thimphu hotel.

Day 2: Explore Thimphu

Spend the day visiting the Folk and Heritage Museum, a Traditional Handmade Paper Factory, a Painting School, the Textile Museum, and the ancient 12th-century Changangkha Temple.

Encounter Bhutan's cherished national animal, the Takin, and explore the National Emporium and more. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha

After breakfast, drive to Punakha via the Dochula Pass (3,100m), enjoying panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas. Hike to the serene Lungchuzekha Temple (3,500m). Continue to Wangdue, visit Kaja Throm, and explore the charming setup before heading to your hotel in Punakha for the night.

 

Day 4: Punakha to Bumthang

Embark on a scenic drive to Trongsa, crossing the historic Pele la Pass (3,300m). Enjoy a picnic lunch at Chendebji Chorten, an 18th-century stupa. In Trongsa, visit the majestic Trongsa Dzong and the engaging Tower Museum. Stop at the Chume weaving center to see woolen products from the Bumthang valley. Overnight in a Bumthang hotel.

Day 5: Explore Bumthang

Visit the ancient Jambey Lhakhang and hike to the revered Kurjey Lhakhang. Continue to Tamshing Lhakhang, a 15th-century spiritual sanctuary.

Visit Konchog Sum Lhakhang and witness a monk debate at Kharchu Monastery. Stroll through the vibrant Bumthang market area. Overnight in Bumthang.

Day 6: Excursion to Ura - Drive to Trongsa

Journey eastward through the Ura Sheltangla Pass (3,250m), enjoying views of Mt. Gangar Puen Sum. Stop at Member Tso (Burning Lake) and hike to the village of Ura, visiting the Ura temple. Continue with a scenic drive to Trongsa. Overnight in Trongsa.

Day 7: Trongsa to Punakha via Gangtey

Retrace your route back to Pelela Pass (3,300m) and head to Phobjikha valley, a rare glacial valley home to the black-necked cranes. Enjoy a hike in the Gangtey valley and visit Gangtey Monastery. Drive back to Punakha for an overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 8: Punakha to Paro

Visit Khamsum Yuelley Namgyel Chorten and the historic Punakha Dzong. Continue to the Temple of Fertility before driving to Paro. Visit Paro Dzong and Ta Dzong if time permits. Overnight in a Paro hotel.

Day 9: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

Embark on a hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest Monastery). Visit the ancient Kyichu Lhakhang and Dungtse Lhakhang. Experience a local farmhouse visit and a relaxing hot stone bath. Overnight in Paro.
